BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE (BSL) CLUB - SIGNING FOR THE FUTURE
The majority of our Year 6 children have started attending a signing club on Friday dinner times run by Mrs Farrar. So far our children have learnt to fingerspell the alphabet and spell their name, as well as ask questions such as what is your name? They have also learnt how to ask how people feel and many different signs for feelings. We are hoping to learn about colours, foods, family life and other signs over the coming weeks.
All the children are thoroughly enjoying this club and cannot wait for Friday dinner times. It is a brilliant skill to have, not only for their future employment, but just to be able to communicate to Deaf people or people with learning disabilities who may use sign.
We look forward to rolling it out throughout KS2 in the coming months.
Welcome to our website. We hope that you will use it to find out about all the exciting things we have done and have planned at Rosewood Primary School.
