Following on from the PM's announcement this evening

Dear Families,

This is a very difficult email to write. Like you, I have just heard through the Prime Minister’s announcement that from tomorrow all schools, including Rosewood Primary School will be closed to all but key worker and vulnerable children.

We will be moving all learning online, and although we have over the last few months refined our systems and procedures for home learning, we will need time to finesse these arrangements. I will inform you tomorrow of what home learning is going to look like going forward, and we aim to have this up and running as soon as possible. If you and your child wish to access some learning, there is some high quality activities on the ‘home learning’ area of the school website: https://www.rosewood.lancs.sch.uk/home-learning/

If you are a key / critical worker (see this link for clarification https://www.gov.uk/.../guidance-for-schools-colleges-and...), please complete the Google form using the link at the bottom of this form in order for us to plan for the provision accordingly. Please be aware, that it is only if you HAVE NO OTHER OPTION FOR CHILDCARE, that you should send your child to school as a key worker.

Children who fall into the vulnerable category have already been identified by school. These children either have an education, health and care plan (what was previously known as a statement), or have involvement from Child and Social Care (social services). Mrs Edmondson and Mrs Flynn will be liaising with these families going forward. If you are unsure whether your child falls into this category, please call school in the morning.

If your child is in receipt of benefits related free school meals, I will be in touch with regard to vouchers and arrangements tomorrow.

We are using the most up to date emails that we have to communicate with you. If you are reading this on our Facebook page and have not received an email please get in touch via head@rosewood.lanc.sch.uk so that we can ensure that you have all the information you need during this period.

I know that this is a really worrying time. Rosewood Primary School is at the heart of the community, and know that we are here to support any and all of our families.

Take care everyone and see you very soon I hope.

Best wishes,
